Those are LS1 heads, not 5.3L heads with what looks like trash beehive springs...not dual springs.

Throw them in a river.

I think he meant the same porting program, not that they were 5.3l castings. Which confused me also. He sent a reciept today which looks good. 600 a head for i guess the cast and porting. -56cc chambers.

What exactly is milling? is that taking material from the bottom of the casting to make the whole head shorter, in turn makin the chamber smaller? Is their any way to compair the 2 heads to see if they are different?

 

Pretty much. It makes them shorter so that the deck is lower to the block.

That says 59cc... you said 56cc.. which is it? 59cc is already going to be a pretty high compression ratio with a thinner gasket.

I don't understand what you're asking.... Obviously these aren't the heads that you thought they were.. Who REALLY knows what they are? 241 heads are LS1 heads, not 5.3L heads.

 

guess 59cc.. like the receipt says. The heads look good after a gasoline bath. I might change out the springs later to those patriot golds.... It will get me running for awhile tho and its not that hard to replace the springs... Least not as hard as tearing it down like I am lol. Got the cam in today and button up the front. Will probably put the heads on tuesday.

ive tried. Its getting old. I can't see why he would throw heads on ebay and have a 100% rating to jeperdise. He might of gotten the heads done with the same plan as the 5.3s. One head has 220cc written on the side, looks like its alittle old. I can dispute it but it kept going in circles. I would say that their not 5.3s and he never said they were on the auction. He thinks im going to rip them off by not sending them when he sends the funds. Getting to be a headache...

 

Bah im sending them back. I don't feel comfortable with them. They might be legit but I want the 5.3s from texas speed and thats what I thought they were.

That's a good idea. You honestly don't know WHAT they are... they may not even be ported correctly... what are you going to do if they don't make power? send them back? hah.

If he won't take them back out of the kindnessin his heart then you are stuck with them.

If you look carefully at the header for the add it says very plainly ''LS1 heads for sale''. You got what you bought. In the description it says that they are ported with the stage 2.5 5.3l head program and all of the other pertenant data.
And as far as the comments on the beehive springs being junk, take that with a grain of salt. Some are trouble and some are ok. My dart Pro1 heads came with beehives and they've been in there 2 season at .615'' lift and 6500rpm shift points.

 

I guess.... I might try to sell them on ebay. Along with my stockers... They could very well be ported but I can't see it. Even looking inside, it looks grainy like a stock casting. I don't see any difference. Milled? Well I measured the height from bottom to top and its the same from my stockers.... He said milled 59cc... Well hmmm... I hate that I can't see it. It bothers me. Im not going to put these on my car with the fact that "Maybe" Their good. Ill sell them on ebay and may be loose a hundred or so. It will take a lot off my chest knowing that the ones I ordered yesterday from Texas-Speed are the real deal and not something that "Could" be real deals....

 

I think the only thing you could get him on is that he didnm't polish them up like they were in the picture. Other than that, the ad is pretty much what it is. You may be kind of SOL on the 7-day return policy though.

I would get a shop to look at them. If they can verify that they were ported, I would just run them.

I got the name of the second highest bidder. Ill ask him if he wants them and tell him that they werent what I expected. I misunderstood what was being sold. I want 5.3l castings..
