Hawk312: As far as the 05`s, expect them to be in the high 12`s. They are going to be all but 3900lb tanks, so 450hp is going to have to move alot of weight! If the original poster has driving skills, he might even be able to handle one of those!

haha...no such thing as an 05 cobra, maybe you mean the 06?

My `02 Trans Am did that with only a lid and a MAF. My `99 Firehawk did 13.2@109 with just a lid and a cat-back. An "encounter" with one on the street proved I could pull on him (slightly) as early as second gear.
With the mods that the original poster has, he will probably be slightly quicker than an `03 already.
You have to remember the curb weight of the Cobra was all but 3800lbs. My 2002 SS is just under 3400. Quite a difference. Plus you have the parasitic loss of the IRS on the Cobra, having to go through 4 extra U-joints.

dont go by paper... i have a good amount of friends with 03-04 cobra.. some stock, some FAR from stock... stock.. they beat my 00z28 pretty good... and just a few hundred on pullies, ehcaust, etc.. destroyed me

i love my camaro, but dont say the 03-04 cobras arnt much faster than a ls1 ... they are

12.8, out of a vert, stock?

sorry people i just don't buy it

03 cobras ARE faster then the strongest running ls1's stock for stock... but as far as needing h/c forced induction or nitrous???

no..

you need about 4 10ths... which is longtubes, cutout and drag radials.

then get the standard things- lid, FRA, gears, computer tuning, (and if you have an automatic) a stall converter.

and its all over.

best i've ever run in my 02 ws6, which is your standard ls1, but with lid, k@n, open exhaust out the cats, no fuel in the tank, no jack/spare tire, no catback, ls6 intake (stock) and ls6 block (stock) was a 13.23 at 105.79 with perfect traction.

the weather could've been better... but i've never been beaten by any ls1 i run that is even close to mine in mods, by more than half a 10th. so mine runs good compared to the rest

stock automatic vert? 12.8?

below sea level, 30 degrees, and hoosiers, maybe.

You don't need much to take down a stock '03/'04 Cobra on an LS1. Most of the time you just need a great launch, most owners I've ran into can't launch that IRS to save their life

ehh... I dorve a GT auto with exhaust hardtop, '04.

man.. that thing was a dog... I mean I felt like my v6 would have really given it a run for the money, I woudl have bet money on the race. Granted I think the Gt woudl have edged it out because it did have more torque. But still the upper rpms felt the same or slower then my v6.

5 speed, gt, now thats just a fun car to drive, may not be a ls1 killer but a quick car.

Nah, actually, 03's at the track, a good track, have gone mid 12's bone stock, down to the air filter. It comes down to ease of modding. Hell, you put an intake on the 03 cobra and its around 20rwhp.

Parasitic loss of the rear? RWHP of the cobra stock on a dyno is in the 360 - 370rwhp range. Im not tryin to make you all buy mustangs, but a lot of us underestimate those things. They are monsters.
