temp level sensor

Hello,

I am new to this forum and this is my first posting.
Anyway, I have a 1999 Z28 and while I was driving it the other day the temp level sensor blew out of the radiator. I was curious if this is common, or if anyone has any ideas as to why this would occur. Did the sensor do this because there was to much pressure in the system, or because it needs replaced? There were no prior issues.

Thanks

Without any indication of other problems I would guess that it was cleaned or replaced and not installed correctly.

I have not replaced this part before, so I guess it may have just gummed up or something. But, I do have one more question in reference to it. Does it just snap into place or is there some type of clamp that is supposed to hold it into place? After it blew out, I just snapped it back into the radiator and it hasn't given me any issues again yet.

I assume it just snaps into place, mine did.
