It tucks up much toghter than the stock airdam. When parking I just keep away from curbs and parking blocks. The SSRA hangs less than three inches lower than the nose of the car, not the airdam but the physical nose. I have had zero problems with mine. It is a closed scoop as opposed to an open unit like the FTRA.

well no one will really intend on driving through a deep puddle at high speeds, but it does happen unexpectedly....then you're F'ed.

even at this one little spot in front of an exit ramp that i take EVERY day for the last 15 years that holds a decent amount of rainwater during a storm, i still sometimes forget and go a little too fast causing a splash.

i really want an SSRA, but i dunno. had a similar ram air on my mustang (March RA), and it picked up an S'load of leaves during the fall season. and the path of that RA wasn't as direct as the ones for the LS1s.

I've really never had a problem with scraping. You do however have to take speed bumps and driveways slow and at an angle. You also have to stop short of curbs. You've got to remember it's there. Has anyone else had a problem?

None, and have driven in rain. I am just aware that it is there to keep from scraping it.

I had a great time at CC. I live down in the corn fields in the southern part of MN, so it is a blast to get out and mix with so many F-car folks now and again.
I was very impressed by your design, like I said, probably the best out there.
I don't know if you recall the downpours that weekend of CC, but they were horrible. I was on the interstate in St Paul when the bottom fell out. It rained so hard and fast that I couldn't see, I was hydroplaning, and I was on a section of road with no shoulder to pull off.
I only have the FRA, but the water was so deep, so fast that I was scared to death for that alone. The scariest outing with my car yet. I know problems are unlikely, it's just a matter of nerves for me. I want to get your part very much, but I am a victim to Newton's Law far to often to risk it.
Anyway, not going this year.
Good luck with your product marketing... and think of some more goodies for us!
Dave

Hey do like I did. I made a block off plate out of flat aluminum stock that goes under the air filter covering the SS hole so that the intake is like stock when it's installed. If there's even a hint of rain I put it in. Only 1 Phillips head screw to install or remove it.
