my car has done the same thing, but its an A4. It happened twice last year. all the electricals work, but with no sound, it made me think my ground for my battery was loose. i checked that and it was tight. this happend once after i installed a new battery. after about twenty tries it finally fired up and hasent done that since. its so odd i guess my car has its own mind and needed a break...
