Angry Stupid dealer screws up temp gauge.

Ok, so I took my car to the dealer to have a few things fixed under warranty, one of which requires the driver’s side exhaust manifold to be replaced. Long story short, the temp gauge no longer works and a SES light is on (most likely caused by the gauge not working). As opposed to taking it back to them, which I would rather not do, I was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction of places to look. First, do you know where the temp sensor is? I’m hoping the just forgot to plug it back in and once I do that and reset the comp (which I haven’t done yet) everything will be fine and dandy. If not, is there any other places/things you would recommend checking? If not then I will take it back tomorrow and complain liberally. Thanks in advance.

I don't think temp gauge not working would give you an SES... Or would it...?

When did you pick up the car? The work from the dealer is warrantied anyway, so I'd strongly suggest you taking it back to them and explain the situation and I'm sure they'll take care of it.

Good luck!

Are the fans on constantly? I'm asking because the last time my temp guage did not work was because I forgot to plug the MAP sensor back in after swapping headers. The temp guage wouldn't work and the fans stayed on constantly. The sensor is located right by the #1 spark plug.

Thanks alot, found it just before you posted. That sensor was unplugged and the fans were on constantly. I just plugged it back in and am resseting the comp now, this should fix it. Thanks again.

P.S. Any sensor being unplugged should set off a code.
