do ls1 fbodys have aluminum drive shafts?

The six speeds do, most of the auto's that come with 3.23 rear gears also come with aluminum. The cars that come with 2.73 only come with steel.

I could be wrong but I think the aluminum ones are stronger than the steel.

I saw where the 1LE driveshaft got around 5 hp and 7 lbs tq at the rear wheels on a LT1 Firebird.

....if you can get one cheap, why not?

When I had my 95Z I picked one up for $50 off a buddy of mine with a 3rd Gen who was putting a Turbo 350 in to replace his 700R4 .

yeeep...it would...no problems at all. it doesnt matter if it came from manual or auto. i swaped one out on my '95 z. got rid of that vibration problem.
