Stock Warped Rotors - What should I replace them with?
Stock Warped Rotors - What should I replace them with?
I want rotors that wont warp with my typical driving abuse, and hard braking.
Yet I want something better than stock... and inexpensive.
I dont have the budget to afford $250/rotor.

Let me help shed some light on this comment since i workfor TRW's brake department.
SLOTTING AND CROSS DRILLING ARE NOT FOR HEAT DISCIPATION.
THEY DO NO DISCIPATE HEAT. On hardcore racing pads and pads from back in the day, under high heat and pressure- they would release a gas. this gas had no whre to go and made a buffer so to speak between the pad and rotor.
holes and slots would discipate this gas, not heat.
Rotor size and caliper material are for cooling. so are the vents in the rotors.
So in effect you get eaten up pads, less braking power and less money.
Trey is right stik00, Any thing aftermarket you go with is gonna be slotted or drilled. Drilled rotors can run into problems with fraturing, I wouldn't go with drilled unless you went with eradispeeds which are a bit on the expensive side. Something like powerslots rotors would be more what your looking for, they go for around 120 each, not to bad.
Two people who build NASCAR cars, and several people who build 1/4 mile cars all tell me the same thing.
Go to AutoZone and buy their inexpensive rotors and pads.
I've run AZ rotors on all my cars, and I now have them on the WS6. No problems ....... ever.
Cross drilled and slotted have their place, but not for a street car or a 1/4 mile car, or even a circle track car. They are for auto-X or for styling.
I love the look of cross drilled rotors behind the wheels, but I ain't spending that much $$$ for looks alone. I'll let the imports do that for me.
I paid $115at AutoZone for 2 rotors and a set of pads for the front axle.

I don't know that much about the Powerslots but they are quite a bit better than the stock ones (of course almost anything is better than stock). For all four, they'll be about $100 a piece.
