Stock lift on LS1 springs ???
Re: Stock lift on LS1 springs ???
You "can" run the GM Hot-Cam with stock springs (they're ~.525" lift) but if you're going anything over stock (around ~.497" lift for '98-'00, ~.478" for '01-'02) then it's recommended to upgrade springs AND pushrods. The LS6 motor has heavier springs than the LS1, and the LS6 cam has ~.550" lift.
Ask around, I don't think anybody swaps cams without upgrading springs

Re: Stock lift on LS1 springs ???
another thing you should consider when buying springs is not just your max lift of the cam, but how long will you be holding the valves open, that what really kills them.
For a mild street cam you cant go wrong with the patriot gold kit at speedinc.com for 250 shipped. good to .650" and titanium accessories.

Re: Stock lift on LS1 springs ???
Keep in mind i do not have an LS1 car . Im trying to find out the max lift
on them compared to the comp cams beehive kit 26918-16 valve springs.
the beehives are good to about .600 lift so i was wondering on the
stock LS1 "beehive" type .
