stage 2 patriot heads

I was browsing thru ls1speed.com last night and ran across what seemed to be a pretty good deal. Stage 2 patriot heads + cam package for $1799. Has anyone tried this setup and how is it??

Patriot has had a few problems with their earlier designs i.e. valve spings & seals but they have that stuff sorted out now. They are shipping with updated (very nice) dual springs now and good seals.

There are plenty of people making good power with their heads over at ls1tech.com.

I installed a set of their stage 2, 5.3 heads last December but haven't been to the dyno or track yet. I can say that the car runs much stronger than my stock head/hotcam setup it replaced.

were the problems they were having that long ago? it just hasn't seemed like much time has passed since i read up on the small handful of guys with failing heads....therefore leading me to think that patriot really hasn't had the time to rework their heads so that they won't have that problem again....

maybe they have and my sense of time is just off...
