anyone running a ported T.B from Speed Inc. on their LS1???
guy says its only $100 w/your own core...not bad but need to know if anyone has had one done from there and how good were the results on a bolt-on 98LS1??

that's not a bad price, i think thunder racing sells them for $150.

i can't see it gaining much power but even if it's 5hp...$100 isn't bad.

i'll be looking into it soon.

saw somebody a couple weeks ago post that he dropped about .1 sec at the track. and he did it on the same day, couple runs with stock TB, then switched and dropped some time...hard to argue that it's useless if you see results.

that was one of the first things i did was a ported TB they say expect 12 hp out of it, well thats what it said when i got mine, but i wouldnt expect that i'd say around 5 or 6 hp thats about the gain i got off of it.

 

the tech dude from LS1 Speed INC. i talked to on the phone said $100(thats your own core sending to them) not bad at all in my opinion....but he did say that they have no cores...recieving sooo many orders they have none left to port lol....also said to expect around 3-5RWHP ball park figure...no big deal but cant hurt right guys??

 

Bauer Racing is also a board sponsor. Bret's TB porting includes extensive filling and reshaping of the inside as well as enlarging. An adjustable full open stop is included. Powder coating or just burnishing is available for appearance.

I'm running a beta test on his C5 ported TB especially for A4 trans. Idle is within 50 rpm of stock, and driveablilty is great.
