something gone wrong with cam swap.

so made a video of me trying to start it and it backfired horribly loud. I don't see how the timing could be off, I double checked before I bolted the timing cover on. I even double checked by pulling the fuel pump fuse, and turning the car over with the starter to check for ptv clearence to make sure I didn't drastically mess something up. but after I got it all together and really tried to start it, it sounded like something was shorted out, as I had a battery terminal short out once, and I know how it acts when that is the problem. I checked the positive on the battery and it burnt the hell out of my fingers. On top of that, it seems like I`m not getting any fuel or fuel pressure when I tested the little pressure test valve. I dunno what to do, I`m thinking it might have been setting up the lifter preload/ rocker arms. I`ve never done it before, but I followed the instructions for yellaterra rockers on ls1 howto. What do you guys suggest? Take it to a professional?

Did you do just a cam swap, or did you pull the heads too?

Yuck.
There's no need to change out the stock rockers unless you're going to a shaft-mount setup.

Did you buy the right length pushrods? Did you adjust for 0 lash? Not having the lash set correctly can cause all kinds of backfiring and ****ty-running problems.

Find the cause of that first. Then check all your fuses under the hood.

I would bet that he has the starter wired wrong.

If the battery positive is getting hot it's a sign that you have high reisitance - maybe just need to clean and tighten the terminal. Start there, it should not get hot.
