So is a lid worth the 80 or so dollars?

Just wondering, got some money laying around from my bday, and i was considering a lid for my car. Do they give any noticable difference in throttle response or power? Is it worth getting? Ive only got about 200 im willing to spend, and this was something cheap...is there anything else out there better that i can do to my car? And as far as the brand is concerned, arent they all basically the same?

A lid is one of the first mods most people do. It will definately increase airflow and they are well worth the money. As far as brand, I personally have the SLP lid on mine, but dont think brand will make much of a difference.

Yes they will definitely give more power and a lid is a lid is a lid. Get one for a 98-99 so it doesn't have an extra hole that you don't need.

The next mod after that would be the LS6 intake manifold. For $300 to $350 you can get decent gains.

Not worth $80 when you can buy used for $50.

It's still worth $80 but if you can find a used one in good shape then it's a bargain.

I'd wash it out first!

Yeah a lid is well worth it and some are better than others. The MTI lid is/was a nice piece.

I have a 98 z28 and I have about all the bolt ons and I had a SLP lid on my car and I ran my car 5 times at the track. There was no difference between my times and I sure as hell couldnt tell a difference in the car. I was pissed that it was so much money for the pos, but everyone else on here sure seems to like them so I guess you can find out for youself but ya I didnt think it was worth it at all.

Lid is a lid and is worth it either way you look at it. (unless you overpay)

My MTI lid is cracked in 3 places.

Nothing JB Weld won't fix.
