Ok, I ordered a lid from SLP a couple week ago. Well, I got a package from SLP today and it was fairly heavy. I knew it wasn't a lid before I even opened it. The invoice said it was but it was actually a ring and pinion set. I'm not sure what ratio though. The ring gear is stamped GM 10:41. Now I'm not a neurosurgeon or a rocket scientist, but I'd say they're 4.10s. Am I correct? SLP wants $199.99 for these and I got charged $99 for a lid. Should I keep the gears and order another lid, or send them back? I know what the "honest" thing to do would be to call customer service and send them back. What do you think?

I dont know.. I think I would be annoyed with them anyways.. but I have issues with SLP since I read on their forums about their lids.

Thats just me tho.. I have bought SLP stuff and I think their LT1 CAI is the best on for the LT1.. but for the LS1, no way..

I would suggest that you look at a few of them installed on local cars before getting one.


I would have those on EBAY right away.. use the $ to buy a different lid.. and help pay for the filter.

most EVERYONE has issues with slp...thier customer service leaves much to be desired! id keep em and make them take the hit on the loss and order another lid. you really think youll feel guilty about their mistake?? i wouldnt...

What kind of sales person would mistake a lid for a set of gears? I'll bet somebody wanted some 4.10's and got a lid instead .
