yeah but most guys willing to do a manifold swap are more than willing to remove all that crap.

it makes the engine bay look really cluttered (as if it weren't already). and as simple as it is to program out, and block off...why not.

and the Holley unit DOES have the hole for the egr. however if you plan to remove it you can just put a 1 3/8th inch block plug in the hole. works perfect

well i suppose it could...maybe 1/4 of hp....
Try this. Get out your shop vac and hook the hose on the output. Turn the vac on. Now stick your finger into the path of the air. Blows pretty hard on your finger doesn't it? What do you think that that might do to the air flow in the intake?

I'd go get the LSX intake for that price.

Does anybody have any pics of the egr system? I haven't really heard much about it. The LSX intake will work great w/ other air mods from what I here.

the EGR system is that black hose/tube that starts right behind the throttle body on top of the intake, curves towards the passenger side, into a cylindrical valve thing, mounted on a bracket, and then a pipe goes down into a fitting that is attached to the manifold.

that's it....

you block off the fitting on the manifold and you plug the hole in the intake....remove everything in between and it's gone...then you need to program it off the computer or you will have an SES light constantly.

what if you have emmisions in your state how do you pass with no egr? how do the 01+ pass? would mine or would they say its a 00 and should have egr?

something about the cam i think is how the later models passed emissions, not positive.

it is possible that you could pass the sniffer without the egr, however if they check the computer they'll notice you had it programed off or if it's not there (functioning).

that is basically why the aftermarket manifolds have the provisions...

I would go with the holley LS6 "Style" manifold instead, i think its around $400 new? And it yields more hp. The LSX manifold is nice but for about $600+ they can keep it.
