no egr crap and you should gain about 10hp on a bolt on car, more for a internally modified car

EGR valve is exhaust gas recirculation valve. It pulls exhaust gasses out of the exhaust manifold and dumps it into the intake directly behind the throttle body. It is an emission control system. The LS6 intake from 01-02 LS1 f-bodys as well as all C5 intake manifolds do not have egr provisions, but the SLP LS6 intake does have egr provisions so you will not get the benefit of not having egr with the LS6 intake from SLP.

EGR robs no power.

an ls6 intake by itself isnt worth much.get a cam or headers to go with it or invest in other mods more worthwhile imo.

some people will say that the pipe that extends into the intake, directly in the intake flow path, robs some hp...

well i suppose it could...maybe 1/4 of hp....

it's more of an engine bay clean up trick...

if you remove it you will trigger the SES light, which can easily be removed with tuning

The exhaust gasses can also slightly heat the incoming air. I really don't think you would notice a huge increase, but cooler air makes more power.

I dont think it is worth it, 10hp for what? 465 bucks!! and thats the SLP LS6 intake with the EGR provision. U could get long tube headers for that, and they yield twice the ammount of hp. That would be my LAST mod to do if done at all.

i already have LT headers and complete exhause work, trying to find out other things to do to gain HP because better heads and cams are out of the question.

i would say shop around for a used ls6 intake from the vettes or the late year fbody. seems like i've seen them for about $300

i really don't think the SLP version is worth it.

have you looked at roller rockers? 1.85 ratio full roller rockers and new springs should cost about $500 and should yeild about 15hp

Does the Weind or Holley LS6 "style" manifolds come with egr? You would think that they would make more aftermarket manifolds with egr, since most f-bods had them.
