SLP FloPack all what it says?
I see alot of you guys have the SLP induction stuff, so it must be good. For a cheap guy like me, is it worth $300 and does it actually put out 25hp?

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
The most beneficial items are the lid and CAI. Used lid costs ~$70.00 shipped and used CAI ~$120.00 shipped.
Benefits from rest of the package (K&N and bellows) are minimal, if any.
So, if you are a cheap guy like myself, just buy the stuff used and don't even bother with the stuff that's not worth much in hp.

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
no chance you'll get 25hp....no chance in hell!!!
well...maybe if you are still using stock induction on a 700hp 396 stroker
the flowpack is overrated and over priced for what you get.
if you want the most possible power out of an induction system...get the SSRA and a lid.
or if you are on a tight budget, do the Free Ram Air mod and a lid. if you decide to do the SSRA later, the FRA mod is required for installation anyway so it's not an added step or hassle

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
In all total honesty..I've seen 45 hp after the tune on stock engines that get the SLP Flowpack, Hooker L/T's and a mufflex 4" w/spintech muffler. So saying they don't work is B.S. And a Lid is a Lid really. Just depends if you want SLP/MTI/etc. on the top of it.

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
All of the lids are basically the same. Mine was $75 new and it's a good lid for the money.
If you do the free ram air mod., be advised that your air filter will get dirtier faster. My friend did this and his filter became very dirty, he did however say there was a noticeable difference.

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
to install the SSRA you have to do the FRA....so yeah...go ahead and do it
"I've seen 45 hp after the tune on stock engines that get the SLP Flowpack, Hooker L/T's and a mufflex 4" w/spintech muffler"
you listed 4 major hp mods and are trying to claim that ONE of them is worth a significant amount?
most tuners will tell you that a good tune on a bolt on car is worth 15hp, longtubes and free flowing exhaust 20hp (conservative). that pretty much means that a $300 lid/filter/bellows/cai is only worth 10hp....
i NEVER said it was worthless, but the only thing you are really gaining hp from on the Flowpac is the lid and cai (which is marginal compared to a SSRA)...not the $50 bellows or the filter

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
So I would be better off saving my $ and just buying the SSRA, lid, and a filter then? Makes sense to me! Those are the Biggest changes that this kit makes to the factory setup, so it only makes sense to buy them instead of buying the package with the other stuff that are maybe only worth another 1 or 2 hp.
Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
pretty much...the SSRA is significantly more effective than the cai
the lid is the same as any lid
the filter is well...that's arguable...some guys have recently posted dyno data saying that stock paper makes same or more hp than K&N or similar filters....basically that's your choice.
bellows is pointless...just a visual mod
you won't be dissappointed with the SSRA and the lid...they give SERIOUS gains at 50+mph.

Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?
The SLP Flow pac is not a bad deal, but if you do get it I highly suggest getting the add on scoop making the cai into ssra, it helps much more, but otherwise i think that all of em are great products, any lid is just as good as another as long as its not stock, i dont know if i beleive smooth bellows helps but you might as well get it, some people say they felt it, either way, SSRA>all, scoops lower than ftra and cai but cai can get the extra scoop, all mods should help
Re: SLP FloPack all what it says?

being able to feel the power gained from a bellow....that's the funniest thing i've heard in years.
it's possible...however unlikely...that you could gain a TINY bit of hp from smoother air flow. if you did it would probably be 1hp or less. and anyone saying they felt that is FULL OF ****!
it's hard to feel 10hp
$100 for a lid, and $200 for the SSRA and you've got more hp for the same price as the flow-pac
