When I did mine last year SLP sent me directions that looked like photocopies of photocopies of photo..... I could barely read the schematic that showed where to cut for the CAI, so I eMailed SLP and they pointed me to a PDF that I downloaded and printed out. MUCH better.

The thing about it that doesn't make sense to me is that both experts they quoted (Greg Banish from Detroit Speedworks and Brian Reese of SLP) argue that they've got turbocharged or supercharged LS1's making 500+ rwhp using stock MAF and TB. So they imply that the stock units aren't too restrictive and don't need replacing until you reach numbers greater than 500-600 rwhp.

But with a TC or SC, you're going to compress the air so you can fit more into whatever space you've got. So yes, with forced induction you can reach 500+ rwhp with the stock MAF & TB.

But that doesn't mean that the MAF & TB aren't restrictive on n/a engines. Right?
Well even the LT1 throttle body was good for 400rwhp stock... and that motor was usually starting out with just 250..

I think all too often people think they have to mod the car to get speed.. the only real reason I feel many of the throttle bodies may be getting a gain is possibly because they have the valve opening a tad bit more. .which would show a tad bit of gain.. then it all becomes more relative..
My guess to test this would be to have a stock TB, a bump stop modded TB and an aftermarket larger TB all available while the car is on the dyno.. shouldnt take long to swap each out.. hmmmm..

At the most, I would do the bump stop... I dont forsee myself putting on a new TB or MAF when they are plenty good enough...
Maybe if I do a Z06 type cam I may go to a Z06 MAF tho..

Yeah, I know what you mean. I got instructions I can read at installuniversity.com.

Guys, come on. The install of a LS1 Cold air induction isn't rocket science. Hardly the degree of skill for a cam installation job.

Once in, no adjustments or tweeks required.

for the whisper lid and MAF, SLP instructions say to disconnect the negative battery cable but the instructions I got off install university don't say that. I was wondering if it was necessary to unhook it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I cant see why you would need to disconect the batt, but I't wouldn't hurt anything if you did.

Hey guys, I installed the induction system, Lid, MAF, and bellows today. It took me 2 hours to do it all taking my time. The HP seemed to increase quite a bit. I like it. Thank you all for your help and tips.
