Thanks everyone for the imput. I think I will put everything in except the MAF at first, try it out, then put the SLP one in and try it. According to SLP description of it, it helps a lot. We'll see though. Thanks again!

Of course SLP will say it helps a lot. They are trying to sell product. If they say it gave a 10hp increase over the stock one, they might have tested it on a highly modified motor. I doubt they got their increase number from a near stock motor.

I wish I had known all this BEFORE I shelled out the 160 for it.

I'd suggest a Dremmel to do the cutting. The snips may crack the plastic. I learned the hard way. With the new piece the Dremmel made easy and clean work of it.

The cutting and snipping is for the cold air induction not the lid. The lid will take 5 minutes to install. Don't worry.

Bauer posted a dyno on ls1tech where they dyno'd a ported TB on a bone stock car and picked up like 8rwhp. Look at a ported one then look at the stock one... its ridiculous.

then why does a stock z06 vette use a 85 mm maf, instead of the stock ones on c5 and f-body, they just have 50 more horsepower, i put slp maf on my 00 ls1 6-speed, and with just that i ran a 12.98 on street tires

Instead of using a sharp awl and hammer to make the hole to mount it can I use a drill?

an ls6 is a little different.it probably is tuned to run with a bigger MAF due to better flowing stock heads.

as was mentioned earlier some people have good results using this and others dont.
