SLP Air Lid questions on fit

I put an slp air lid on my car and it doesn't have a tight fit in the back and has minor gaps in the front two corners. is this normal and or will this affect my performance? Is there a way to check this out?

Mine also had a gap in the back. I fixed it by adding the foam strip that comes with the lid and also installed the full perimeter foam seal that came with my K&N filter. It's actually doubled up in the rear of the lid, but it sealed up the gap. If you take a flashlight and lean over the radiator you can see if the foam is touching the edge of the filter.

I put the strip that comes with it on but that's prolly the best way to do it. ill look for a full foam piece from an air filter, Thanks

Try a different brand air filter I know a lot of people have had fitment issues with the drop-in k&n air filter over the years, but I don't know if that's still the case (I quit using oiled air filters a long time ago).

My SLP fit fine. The big thing I found with the SLP's is that you need to work hard to get all the tabs inserted. And I also still us AC filters. Never liked those oiled ones.

I bought the cold air intake kit. it came with a blue non oiled filter .... I had to heat up the end of the lid with a heat gun to fit the maf sensor.
