Slave cylinder issues..

I just put in a new slave cylinder in my '98 Z28 because the bleeder valve in the old one broke and air got in the line and i had no clutch

But that same day i left for a road trip and every hour or so of driving the clutch would go soft on me, i opened the reservior and it was empty again. I filled it and it was fine but then i looked under the car and it was dripping fluid pretty bad. So for the last week or so i have been driving the car under these conditions because of lack of time to drop the tranny again to see what the deal is under there. And everywhere i go i have to fill up the reservior..it really sucks but it keeps the car rollin'.
i checked the braided line to see if it was leaking and it wasn't...the leak is coming from the bell housing..
So my question to you guys is what do you think the problem is?? Thanks... -Chris

one of 3 things to check

1.make sure it is not leaking where the braid hose attaches to the slave cylinder.
2. make sure the bleeder is tight and not leaking where it attaches to the slave
3. Make sure the seal is still in the slave cylinder

good luck.

BTW, fix it soon, you do not want brake fluid getting slung up on the clutch disc material by the flywheel.

Already did 1 and 2...but as far as #3...
what exactly do you mean by make sure the seal is still in the slave cylinder?

And as far as the fluid getting slung, it proly already has. i keep driving it everywhere i have no choice

There is a seal inside the black piece(part that actually moves). Happens most of the time by pressing clutch pedal with the slave not pressing against the pressure plate. If that came off, the fluid will come from under the black slidy thing(for lack of a better description) I think installuniversity has pics of the slave and how to remove the slider.

I wish I could be of more help.
