I have heard of people putting a shorter drive belt on their LS1's to make it so you wouldn't have power steering and pull the motor down so much. Does anyone have the part number for the belt or have anyone heard of this too???

Come on guys no one has heard or done this??? It was in a super chevy mag. but I can't find it anymore.

 

Typically (this is done on many cars) its called "Running a short belt" usually done at the track only.

Commonly it is setup to remove virtually all drag from the crank. Leaving only the water pump and the crank connected and running the risk of no battery...

Have you tried a search for short belt or something. I know people do it since I have seen posts of people trying everything they could to get those extra .1's...
