shift light

I did some searches and found some of the stuff i was looking for but basically i am hooking up my autometer shift light and dont know exactly which wire to splice into for the signal. Does anyone happen to have a pic or a good description of which wire i am looking for? its on a 98 ls1.

Thanx!

Barry

there are two 80 pin connectors on your pcm. one is red and the other blue. unplug them but be SURE you put them back the way they were, (red where the red was and blue where it was) the output pin is pin #35 on the blue connector. it should be a white wire coming out the back of #35 of the blue connector, you need to splice into this wire (it is your tach output wire)

you can find the white tach wire on the lt side just below the fuel rails. You first have to open up the plastic protective outer tube cover that is leading to your coil and locate the white wire inside. I used one a crush type connector that neatly connects to wires togeather. I have been using a profrom shift light with no problems and is right on the nose with my factory tach.
