Service Engine Soon Light?
I got my 99' Z28(45,000 miles) about 2 weeks ago, and the air filter was very dirty. I got a K&N filter today and about 5 minutes after driving with the filter in, the SES light came on. All fuilds are full and it has a full tank of gas with the cap on good. Any suggestions on if the filter could do this or if it was just weird timing?
Thanks
Thanks

SES is emmissions related. It could be a number of things, but based on your case, it could be that excess oil from the k/n filter got onto the MAF and intake. That would set it off. As would bad gas or a faulty sensor (IAT, MAF, etc...).
Here's what you should do.
1. Check the front fascia, does it have the Chevrolet emblem?
2. Is it an American F-body car made in Canada?
3. Does it depreciate faster than a pair of used boxers with skid marks?
Then you need to take it to the dealership and ask "WHY WHY WHY DID YOU LET ME BUY THIS?"
I hope I helped you with your SaveEngineSoon light.
