You guys are all into the hype it seems from the mobil 1, redline, blah, blah... go to www.bobistheoilguy.com and go to the forums and the oil tests and see for yourself there is stuff youve never heard of thats supposed to be much better. Also it sounds fun to do an oil analysis just to see whats really going on inside your engine.

Me Crying and Sensitive, **** No, but what pisses me off is the fact that people on this board get **** just because I did not realize that all LT1 based Fbodys had those manifolds, ignorance on my part ok I admit, the reason I did not know what manifolds they have is for the the main reason is that I have not looked too closely at any F-Body since the last 3 cars that I was looking at before.. A few years ago, I was looking at 67 - 70 Camaros for reasons that they were easier to work on, No Smog and I can get away with 1500 HP no problems. So these newer cars with Fuel Injection is still kind of new to me, so sorry but hey I did not expect rude posts back either.. Another thing is I did look at a 97 30th Anniversary but I did remember that car had Headers on it but it was still a Tight Squeeze for the engine in that car as well..

Now on to the matter at hand is, I was mainly asking when did GM and other manufacturers require that they do all oil changes at the dealership mandatory for Warranty Purposes ?? I thought that it did not matter as long as you kept up the regular maintance unless you take your car/truck to the dealer because the Engine is making some lower bearing noise because your Rod spun a bearing with the lack of routine maintance ??

Now another question, if anyone in Southern California, knows of anyone selling a 68 - 72 Short Bed either Stepside/Fleetside, please contact me ASAP.. Besides driving a 02 Z28, I cannot stop trying to find a bed and parts for my 68 C10 Project Truck !!

Sorry Again for my pure Ignorance ! Don't Kill me for not having knowledge on these F-Bodys !!

Further research shows that the PF44 is the stock LS1 filter. The PF58 is also acceptable but has a different internal construction. The anti-drainback valve to be specific. The PF59 seems to be the same internaly. The only difference is the length.

Summary - use the PF59. But don't panic. It's okay to leave the PF58 in until your next change interval.

Lotsa info at the www.bobistheoilguy.com web site. Thanks for that link. This site name should be the answer for all future oil questions that people bring up around here.

Check it out. They even have an active forum section.
