Salvage cam question

Say i went to a salvage yard. Is there a stock cam that would be good for an LS1 buildup?

Re: Salvage cam question

Ya, get a 70 LT1 solid cam.

Are you wanting a performance increase? If so, I've seen 02 LS6 cams for sale on boards for under $200. You'll still want some good valve train upgrades. Read the thread on the 02 LS6 cam. They had longer and lighter valves etc etc etc. Good luck on finding an LS6 in a junk yard though.

The equivalent of your stock 02 cam would be the LQ4 (6.0 Escalade engine). Again, good luck finding one in a junk yard.

Why would you need to get one out of a different type of car? If you want stock, people are almost giving them away.
