You let your oil go 90k miles?

I bought my car when it had about 90k miles on it. That is when I made the switch to Synthetic. I change my oil every 5k...

BMW owners manual suggests 15k oil changes, and most BMW owners I know abide by that, 5 I know off the top of my head anyways...

However in our cars, I would not go past 8k without changing... We see higher RPM's quite often.

Have you really had experience using one oil change to 90k??? Wow

I've seen up to 30k, but never 90k... But I also work like I said in Industrial Hydraulics and 99% of what I deal with is /not/ vehicles (500gpm fed Steel Mills )

I'm impressed, how often did you do oil changes? I'm experimenting on my 85 camaro using a large Industrial Hydraulic oil filter (cartridge) trying to extend the filter change to two years . Have built in an indicator with a light in the car and the filter trips it at 22 psid.

Fun Stuff.

OK, heh I was gonna give you the benifit of the doubt but I thought that was high. The 30k I have seen is in fleet diesels using oil analysis every 5k after 15k to monitor the oil.

Thanks for clarifiying. heh
