Running too lean?

Running too lean?
Hi everyone!
On Friday night, I bought an '02 Z28 M6 with 45,000 miles on it (for about two grand under the blue book price, I might add). Original owner installed a Corsa cat-back and an LS1 Motorsports airbox lid.

On Saturday night, it threw an SES. I was near an AutoZone, so I had them plug in and check it out. Turns out that both cylinder banks were running lean. I had the AutoZone guy clear the codes, and they haven't come back yet.
Temperatures here (SW Michigan) have been 90-95 for the past few weeks, and then it dropped down to the 70's in the last couple days. The AutoZone guy suggested that the ECU had been compensating for the low O2 density in the hot, humid air, and now that the air has cooled off, it's overcompensating and there's too much oxygen present.
That explanation makes sense, but I'm pretty sure it was a stab in the dark, and I wondered if anyone else had any ideas or thoughts.
Thanks!

Re: Running too lean?
Check the connections between the maf and throttle body. Look for cracks in the lid itself, is it sealing, did the original owner install the rubber seal around the bottom inside of the lid where it meets the filter? If you reset the computer it's going to take some time for the code to reset itself because your Long term fuel trims need to be above plus 25% percent for a certain amount of time before the code will set.

I didn't have them reset the computer -- he just cleared the code.
I think you figured it out for me, though -- earlier that day, I had unlatched the lid and checked out the air filter. I'm thinking I didn't close it correctly.
Thanks!
