RPM drops and then stall at stop lights

This is for a friend's 2002 Escalade.

Whenever he slows down or stops the truck's idle drops very low or it stalls.

Suggestions?

Scan it for codes first then move on to the basics, fuel filter, fuel injector cleaner etc. etc. Sound like my car after it's trying to re-learn the pcm.

Yeah check for codes and proper preventative maintainence items then I'd look at/clean the IAC and it's passages.

My TA is doing the exact same thing...
I changed the TPS, it did nothing. Check engine light comes on.. then turns off, does your friends truck do the same thing?

That vehicle does not have an IAC.

2 things to check:

1. Clean the throttle blade and throttle body. Pay particular attention to the hole in the throttle blade. If it clogs, the idle will be very low and could cause stalling. GM issued a TSB for this.

2. Then remove the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator. If you see gasoline, replace the regulator. If not, then you should be good!

Sounds like the same problem I just started having yesterday on my 02 Firehawk. Whenever I come to a stop, RPM's drop to around 1000 like normal for about 2-3 seconds and then it stalls.
