i have the eibach prokit on my car. 1.2" drop. the guy who welded on my SFC's told me that with the prokit, i need to get rear relocation brackets for the (lower control arms???) for something back there. he said that the lowering changes the geometry of the driveshaft into the differential (which i can understand) and over time, the u-joint will go bad.
is he correct? i would imagine that the geometry difference is very slight and that's what u-joints do, they handle slight mis-alignments. anyone else out there have an opinion? anyone been running a lowered car for more than a few miles and had no u-joint problems?
BTW, i know some people put in the relo's for reduced wheel hop. i'm not worried about that. never been to the track, never plan on it. just don't want to screw up the rear end or u-joint.

The relocation brakets arent for saving your u joints. They are for getting your traction back. You want your rear LCA's to at least level with the ground, or from the chasis mount back, pointing down just a bit. If they are pointing up from the chasis mount back to the rear end, you will be losing traction as when the rear goes to plant upon initial acceleration, there is nothing forcing the rear end into the ground.
