I just have excessive fuel consumption and sometime "rotten egg" smell from the exhaust but no SES light at alll. What are the chances that there is a code thrown but no SES light?

If the Car is outside of the USA or Canada (Germany, Austria and Swizerland for that matter), the next GM-Deale (eg. Geiger ) will fix it for free, right?

so has anyone taken there car to the dealership yet? my dad's 01 Z just through the P0420, bad left cat, code on the way home today, and we got the letter about 3 weeks ago, so i guess it's time to take it in.

who really wants to be bothered with recall, take the cats off, if your worried about inspections, then weld cat housings over a straight pipe
