Sorry dude, but AFAIK, there's no difference between LT1 & LS1 rearends...............................therefore, they're still crap (for anything other than stock use ).

Since I don't have too much experience with the new cars (yet), I'm not sure exactly what's susceptible to failing (the gears, the actual gear housing??) but I'm assuming that aftermarket gears are going to be a little bit stronger, but I think the main problem is that they're just too small physically for the amount of power that LT1's and LS1's throw at them....................therefore, I think that complete 12-bolt or comparible housings need to be installed if you really want to throw some power at the rear end and expect it to last.

Well, it is better than the LT1 rear because you have the Torsen HD rather than the Auburn. Still weak, but slightly less weak than the 93-98s

they will warranty it cause i will put the regular tires back on tow it there and say fix it at least then it will be worth the extra 1500 for the warranty.

more than likely you'll make warranty money back in power window motors...I know I did on the last car.

Dont count on it...My friend blew his engine and trans and they didnt warranty it...Another friend blew his rear end and it wasnt covered either...He works at a dealership too...They both had street tires on them and all that fun stuff...
