Drove through water...agh!

horrible weather here, ended up driving my 99 Z28 through a flooded section of road. I was going probably no more than 25 or 30 when I hit it (and of course I slowed down real quick!!) and I figure it was about axle deep maybe a little higher (not really sure, had to go about 200 ft or so to get out of it.

The car seems to be OK (got home OK later that day after work), but now I'm getting a chirping noise at idle and when coasting (sounds like the belts or pulleys?).

Could I have done any damage, should I be worried?

You may have gotten some dirt or grime on the belt. If it's never been replaced you could probably use a new one. You also could have damaged the bearings in the idler pulley. It may wave gotten water inside or washed lubricant from the bearing. Either of these situations isn't really a big deal. And they both could very easily fix themselves if ignored. But both are also pretty cheap to fix.

Let us know what you find out.
