My 99 SS M6 did 307 in like 95 degree heat w/ a K&N filter as my only mod. Mileage at the time was 9800.

Re: Rear wheel HP rating on 00 SS

I find most people only post numbers if his or her dyno results were good. My '98 Z28 with 93K miles on it, put down 313 RWHP.

This was with a lid, K&N, open cut-out, Mac headers and ORY-pipe, fresh [mechanical] tune up, a tune, and 4.10 gears spun in 4th gear of my T56.

My heavier flywheel, steel drive shaft, and steeper gears (4.10's) could have all possibly decreased power output.

I showed up expecting to see some where around 330RWHP and was dissapointed, but when I think that with my less-than-perfect driving on ET streets I went 12.84 on a G-tech it makes me not care about the hp #. I can't wait to go to the real track and make some follow up passes on my new 8.8" rear.

I posted my good and bad ones before..

Just to give you an idea:
my car at 3k Miles got on its first dyno.. it was at 21st century performance in carrollton tx.. John Lingenfelter was there as well.
305rwhp
7K miles later I was at RSI and put down:
306rwhp
another 3K miles later I returned to RSI and the results were:
318rwhp (these were not the "highest" runs but were repeated runs)
within another 1K miles I returned again to RSI and recorded:
320rwhp.
All of this was bone stock. I was on the dyno much because I was testing Lids and filters the last two times. The car has made over 40 dyno runs. most of which were back to back.
with a stock filter and a lid I can gain 8rwhp.. Only 5rwhp if I use an aftermarket filter with the lid.

I do not run any of them in my car at the present as I only wanted to test them.

Someone had a nice little post about READING COMPREHENSION. What does the dyno of a 2002 have to do with the question about the dyno of a 2000???

Re: Rear wheel HP rating on 00 SS

same thing everyone else with years that were not 00's and add to that they were modded..
at times, we just post to post.. ya never know when this may help out the guy asking the question..

I like for people to know its virtually impossible to compare dynos to dynos.. now if you ran on the same dyno as I did within 20 minutes, I would say thats a decent comparision.. and being that this person is relatively new to this site, I wanted him to draw a good conclusion about HP.. that its all relative and eventually he may want to see what his car does at the track. (which many say is a great way to see how much power you have but in reality, if you cant drive it well, its not. I have seen too many 400+hp cars run 13's because the driver didnt know what he was doing..)
so.. there...
geesh.

When I said K&N system I mean the K&N fipk, which I assume is the best filter related upgrade for LS1's?

Re: Rear wheel HP rating on 00 SS

I never put down a dyno # stock, but i dynoed 365 after the mods in the sig with no dyno tune. i think tahat stock it might have been down around 300. i think my 4.10s may have hurt as well.

Just found it ironic how you get on to people about reading comprehension for doing this exact same thing in another thread and yet you do it here....

For the 00. 300-305hp w/ ~315 lb/ft is average.
