Wink Ready to mod

I am new to this forum partially due to the fact I just bought a 2001 Z28 with 15,000 miles on it. “Practically stole it ”

Well here goes. I have been reading this forum a lot for the past few weeks and I have noticed lots of people have some good cars. My LS1 is completely stock. And it’s time to start adding the mods. I see some setups that are pretty sweet, But they all have their downsides or an “I wish that I would have done this”. Basically, I want to know what would be the best route to go. I have already decided I’m not going to use the juice.

Option one. Vortech LS1 Supercharger Kit with Aftercooler (polished finish) $5999 ---- SLP/YANK STEALTH 2600 $395. Plus some other odds and ends.

Option two. Fast Toys LS1 Ram Air System $169 ------ Granatelli MAF $441 ----- H/C package. $?
------ SLP/YANK STEALTH 2600 $395.

Ahh like a kid in a candy store. I don’t know what I want! I would appreciate some feedback on this subject. What do you wish you would have done with your mods. Or love with your mods thanks.

Thumbs up I'd go w/ the free mods first.

Congrats on your purchase, BTW !

See here: http://www.installuniversity.com/ins..._documents.htm

I have the EGR, TPS, and Free Ram Air - they all work, but of the three I'd say the FRA is the most effective.

Heads & Cam runs roughly 3K, and should be good for roughly 100 RWHP.

Anybody ever done any LS1 turbos ?

That would be pretty cool, too - if $'s are not an object.

Thumbs up

first welcome to the forum!! now IMO with a completly stock car i would start with that exhaust!!! not a lot of point in doing a whole lot more with out changing that exhaust first. try some long tubes, y-pipe, and some other rear section. i dont know if you like it loud or not but check out SLPONLINE.com and see their LTs,ypipe, and loud mouth exhaust. ITS LOUD!!! pretty good prices too.
good luck

Well, first off, get a lid with the k&n or holley power shot filter. Then get a new muffler, with some pacesetter long tube headers from texas speed.
That should do for a while. Eventually you could get a new cam with heads and be into the 400+hp range.
