Question What Size Inlet/Outlet Pipes?

I'm buying a muffler soon and I need to know what size I/O to get.

The Magnaflow one I'm looking at has a 3" inlet and 2.5" outlets, is this the correct size and will my stock tips fit on this new muffler easily?

The Z28 has a 2 3/4 pipe back from the cats, so a 3" inlet might be too big.

yeah, it'll work. The muffler shop will just weld the pipe inside the 3" inlet, giving you 2 3/4 inlet flow. If you want 3" flow, you'll need a catback.

If you use the flat stock z28 tips with the new muffler, it will probably look off-sided. The stock pipes have funky bends in them to make it look centered, when really its off-centered and at a funky angle.
