QUESTION ABOUT LIFTTERS
Hi
I dont know if its common, but 2 of the Camaros I had, had lifters problems, they sound like no oil, or takes too long time to charge of oil.
Right now, my 99Ls1, when starts in the morning, dont make any bad sound, but if I left on, in 1 or 2 minutes, starts to hear that sound.
Other way, when starts to run I can hear to much noise or at least most than the normal noise like earlier engines that need to calibrate the upper parts because they werenīt hidraulic.
Any one knows if may be need some calibartion or i need to replace the liftters?

You shouldn't have to replace lifter on a car so new. Try checking your oil level and make sure you have it filled correctly.

Of course that I already change the oil and filter, but donīt stops that noise.
I use the Quaker State 20W40 "FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINES"

Only tapping I had was when using Mobil 1 5w30. I changed to 10w30 and no more tap.

I'd go with Mobil fully synthetic oil. 5w30 prefered. 10w30 also OK. 5w50 also good. I would personally never use 20w40 oil. That's just me. I live in a colder climate, though. I'll stay with 5w30 until the engine has high mileage, always staying with synthetic. What is your oil pressure reading?

In my past LT1 96, used once the 5W50 and I feel that made more noise so, again use 20W40.
Right know the oil pressure in warm and at 650rpm is 275Kpa thatīs right the middle of the mark in the dash.
The other cars I had, dont had too much preasure because the LT1 i remember that, when was warm, mark too down, not in red, but too down and the 98īLS1, wasnt too down but downer that mi actual car.
