Question about LCA's ?????

i just got my Lakewood LCA's from Summit. they have the urethane bushings, but i got them for real cheap, i was wondering what the difference was between these and say BMR or Hotchkis or any others for that matter. any help would be appreciated.

They all serve the same purpose, although some are adjustable, some are cro-moly, some are tubular etc..you get the point...the stock ones are stamped steel pieces of crap...way too much flex..I've got the BMR tubular cro-moly..nice, light and rigid...boxed one's are heavier but stronger.....it all depends what you intend to use your car for....just as long as you have gotten rid of stock ones you'll do fine...good luck

I have the BMR "boxed" with poly bushings, and here is a little tip for the install.

Buy some pure silicone grease (looks like clear vasoline) and coat the inside of the poly bushing, and coat the entire bolt shaft to the start of the threads, then torque the bolts to 75 lbs. torque to nuts. This will ensure the bushings not squeaking. If you have "zerk" fittings pump them with "synthetic" grease, do not use petrolium based grease for it will eat the polyurathane in the long run.

Good luck.

No differance you will notice.......But its been said, when it comes to rod ends, you get what you pay for. In terms of quality and noise reduction

Lakewoods are great I have them on my ta and have had good results with them, they're a little small for a boxed arm but when compared to a tubular they're still stronger. I had bmr tubulars on my 97z and they did fell a little better in corners but other than that the lakewoods are just as good if not better.

Hey SteveC did you have alot of problems with "squeak" with the BMR's? I am about to buy the boxed set from BMR.......i am under the impression the rubber/poly bushings are best for quietest ride? I noticed BMR offers 2 choices of bushings....which do you guys recommend? Thanks Kevin

I think poly/poly are the quietest. they are for street use.

Poly/rod makes some noise, and are for street/track

kevin97z28;

As long as you grease the bushing before installation as I indicated above, you will have no problem with squeaking, you will however have a transference of road noise inside the vehicle with the poly bushings, but nothing that will be offensive.

You will love the boxed LCA's
