Problem with my 2002 Z28

Hey guys,
I just bought my car two months ago. Almost every time I start driving when its cold, theres a bad hesitation, it will barely drive and has no power. Not fun when you pull out into traffic and dont see a car coming at you.
Well i took it to two different dealerships a total of 3 times and they havent been able to duplicate the problem and say nothing is wrong. All they do is check the computer and drive for a 1/2 mile. Well tonight it was worse than ever AND it thru a code because the engine light came on. I'm assuming the code is stored so now they will be able to pull something.
Has anything similar to this happened to anybody else and what do you think it could be?
Also when its cold it grinds going into 2nd gear but is fine once warm. Is the tranny problem normal??
Thanks!
Chris

Yes,if the SES light comes on a code should be stored until the computer is reset. If you go to Autozone or somewhere they will scan the code for free.I don't know about your tranny problem because I have an A4 and I never grind em .Good luck.

Thumbs down

Like I said, I already went to two different dealerships as well as called GM's 1-800 assistance number which was a complete load of crap. I did ask the dealership last time i was there for a loaner car to get to work and they said they only do that if they have to keep it overnight.
Looks like this customer got screwed. Other than this the car is awesome.

If it threw a code the computer WILL store it. The dealer has no choice but to fix it. Try taking it to a pontiac dealer, if you can or haven't, they're real good. Helped me out

Lose the disabled skip shift and any other mods having anything to do with electronics. Dealers love to kill warraty jobs. Customers pay a lot more. Don't give them any ammunition.

My car is also about 2 months old and I have noticed in the mornings (when I get to drive it!) that when it is cold mine is a little more "difficult" than normal to put into 2nd gear. It doesn't grind per say, because I don't hear the grinding sound but it definitely is harder to put into second for about the first 5 miles or so. But after that it works like a champ. Weird, cause it didn't do this at first, just noticed it about 1 week ago! The crappy part is I live here in the UK (US Air Force) and the Brits here have seen a chevy only from television, got to love those "Like a Rock" commercials! So they are no help.
