LOL. When I got mine out of the box my first thought was these things are being made in someone's garage.

The optional factory installed Hurst has a bad reputation because of the vibration isolating rubber mounting inside the stick. I bought a $20 short stick off ebay and it was a real improvement. I thought to go one better by replacing it with the pro5.0. Personally I see no advantage over the hurst with the short stick but there is a new chattering sound coming up from the transmission housing through the shifter now. I made a gasket to drub the sound but it is still there at certain engine speeds.

I have found that missing 3rd is avoided by keeping my palm facing forward and open with my elbow out on hard shifts. The hurst and pro5.0 naturally moves to third if there is no lateral pressure applied to the stick so I have no shifter preference in that regard. I have never understood the visceral reaction to these shifter questions.

Re: pro 5.0 shifter questions

My factory Hurst arguably feels like day one still.. 81K miles.. countless track passes and a bit of AutoX thrown in.. Shifter is still peachy..

Once had a guy at RSI who was putting it on the dyno ask me if I ever drive it hard.. (He asked because the shifter was still so snug)
