Question Porting The Stock Mass Air Is It Worth It????

I was thinking about taking that metal bar out in the mass air and maybe porting it out a little will this help or throw any codes on my 98 camaro ss. thanks

there is no reason to mess around with it unless you need to. when i say need, i mean if you are pushing enough power. basically, if you have about 450 at the wheels, then start to worry about it. otherwise, let it be.

I have done it on both of my ls1's just because it's free and I am always doing anything that I can to my car. If you don't feel comfortable doing it then don't, but it's not going to throw any codes as long as you don't nick the MAF wires.

I did it and don't recommend it. It was a pain sawing and fileing down the stock MAF ends. Plus it's risky cutting the black bar on the MAF. I didn't notice any HP increase. Plus like mentioned above unless you're throwing back some good horse power, it's not necessary.
