stik6shift98 - You don't really need to get the mirror-like finish. The only place it may be practical is on the exhaust side to prevent carbon build up over time. Even there, I think it would be excessive. On the intake side, the basic goal is to enlarge and smooth out the entry to prevent turbulance. It isn't gonna hurt to get the mirror like finish, but I don't think it would be worth the time and would get you minimal results. But if your willing to put in the time, go for it. A friend of mine did a set of stock Big Block oval ports, and it was WAY more time than he originally planned.

Amood, did you ever have your heads flowed? If so what kind of numbers did you get out of them.
Thanks

No, I needed to get the car back together....but that's not the case now, cause I have a second vehicle to beat around in. I've never dynoed either, but that'll definitely get done after all the work gets done: all new bushings, torque arm, panhard rod LCAs, catback, tires, cam/springs, timing chain set, aluminum intake, redo the port/polish, TUNING.....hopefully April or May.

What kind of cam are you planning on going with? I've seen great results from the thunderracing 227/224, a guy I know dynoed 402 at the wheels with it cam only no heads.

Thunder Racing 224/224 .561/.561 114 LSA....I have the compromise between performance, idle, and powerband balanced as well as I should expect with this cam.

PS I just went to the T R site and saw the cam your buddy's runnin......I think I might call their tech line and enquire about that one also.........but as it stands the cam listed above is my present choice.
