My lt1 car couldn't keep up with a stock 2000 z28, and that was after all my mods. From a dig I would stay within a car length, but lt1's flat out suck up top. If a race would get about around 100mph, my car felt slow. The ls1 doesn't feel like it ever stops pulling.

From my standpoint and owning both, the ls1 beats the lt1 in everything. Most say the lt1 sounds better and had the better body style. I personally disagree.

Ls1 will respond much better to mods.

Most important of all, you don't have to deal with the optispark!!

I would suggest looking for a cammed ls1, you will not be disappointed by it. I've owned my car for 2 years and still grin every time I give it full throttle.

I've also been on both sides of the fence. I owned a 94 Z28 that was an auto for awhile and swapped to an M6 after that kept breaking. It was a 3.73 rear car with all bolt-ons and true duals with H-pipe and mad Z28 tune. I could out-run a stock auto LS1 by a car length through the 1/8th mile on average. And an M6 was usually nose to nose unless driver error played a roll.
Haven't had the LS1 to the track, but it has been on the dyno. And I don't question a bit that it's putting down at least 25 more HP with JUST the exhaust, and no headers. Also as others have mentioned the LT1 runs out of steam up top and the LS1 never seems to quit pulling like a monster. I remember someone on here once phrazing it best... "The LT1 will hammer you back into the seat, but the LS1 will keep you there."

As far as appearance and sound.. IMHO sound - LT1 > LS1 ALWAYS. looks.. 98-02 T/A or formula > *.. but LT1 Camaro > LS1 Camaro.. though I do like the LS1 SS better than the LT1 SS

I really don't care

You guys weren't there and you wanna believe what you wanna believe.

Don't ever compare a Lt1 versus a TBI or Tune port thats a totally different in ever aspect. I either have a very special transmission or I must have the lucky 1997 LT1.

As long as my friends and brothers friends see what happens and I make side money from racing I don't care what you guys say. I will pull that motor apart one day but I know that car is stock with the freakin rusted stock exhaust, stock intake, and the plugs that were there since day one. It was sold at 102,000 miles because the owner didn't want to spend the $900 for a tune up and tried the spark plugs himself and sold it to my neighbor's son which owns a shop that he just opened up 4 years ago and that was the first car he sold.

Makes me sick how you guys judge and slander on other people when your not even there to see it. I lost a lot of respect for this website and import owners have more respect then most of you guys. You guys must be driving messed up Lt1's or just the old versions because the 1997 was a great year for the LT1 and they did small revisions since 1993. Maybe it was weight my car has no power seats etc...

This is why this world is messed up with people like you guys that don't wanna hear and see things in one way.... YOUR WAY

It was a fair race like I said same mods so end this stupid thread.

And for the record, an LT1 beating an LS1 in the scenario you posted above would be like a 305TPI 3rd gen running down a LT1 car. Would you admit that's possible? Probably not...

Are you brain dead 305 versus 350 plus the LT1 has way better heads etc.

Thats apples to oranges. LT1 and LS1 are almost the same size cubs 350 versus a 346.

Seems like you're the braindead one comparing an LT1 to an LS1, so what if they almost have the same cubes? My 83 silverado had a 350 so i guess i should compare it with my LS1

I won't ask you if you are brain dead - no need to ask about what I already know. The power difference between my examples is the same. There is roughly a 75HP difference between both the 305 and LT1, and the LT1 to the LS1.

And you make side money from racing a high 13 second car?

There are THOUSANDS of other LT1 owners on this site that will admit the LS1 is better, period, end of story. They either have been beaten by stock LS1s in their decently modded LT1s, or now own an LS1. Do you think that you have that one magical LT1, that has capabilities beyond all the others?

Finally, in this case, MY WAY is completely founded. The LS1 is FAR superior to the LT1. Anyone who argues is, well...

Ok, Ok. This is done. You can do a search for LS1 VS. LT1 anyway.
