Question Piston trouble :(

I have a 2002 SS with SLP package and I have confirmed through the local service department that the #1 piston is a victim of Piston Slap and was told this shouldn’t affect the life of the engine. Also, Piston #1 is miss-firing as a result of the injector. They are supposed to replace the injector and that should fix the problem. What I want to know is has this happened to anyone else and is it possible that the Piston Slap could be the problem. Thanks for your help

Piston slap is very common with LS1s. I have it during cold starts.

I don't see piston slap being a problem unless its just unruly...many if not all LS1's I've driven/riden/have extended experience with have piston slap. It shouldn't be a problem just don't beat on the car till its warmed up...but that should go for any car anytime.
