pedal sticking, think its vacuum problem

Hey, not an LS1, but basically, its a 2000 silverado 5.3L. The pedal sticks when its not depressed at all, so when you go to hit the gas you have to HIT it to get it to move first. It doesnt do it when the engine is not running, and it doesnt feel to me like its in the cable, I told my dad I think its a vacuum problem since the blade feels like it sticks when you crack the throttle at the TB while its running.

Its been repaired once for this under warranty and they replaced the whole TB, now out of warranty, dont want to do that. If this is the same as LS1 or anybody has a suggestion its appreciated. Thanks LS1 guys!

My stepdad was having the same problem with his truck and I pulled the intake tube off the tb there was a lot of oily crap inside the there. What I did was take some stp tb cleaner and spray it all down good and he says he hasn't had a problem since.

Just my experience with it so IDK but if that's your problem it's an easy fix.

Sounds like buildp on the throttle body blade. Check the blade (opening) on the throttle body. If it's oily, dirty, or gummed, it will provide resistance to the movement of the gas pedal. When you "floor it", you overcome this resistance and the throttle body blade pops open. It usually will not stick after that.

Clean the throttle body with a spray on fuel/ carb cleaner and wipe it so it's clean and dry. This should solve your problem

If it is not gummed up then you may just need to raise the throttle body stop screw some so the butterfly plate does not wedge in the body. Had to do that on the '95 Z. It would stick mostly in the morning before you hit the throttle. Later>>>>>>>>

man..right before july 4th..my pedal got stuck in my car! ....i definatly had to throw those boxers out after that...lol...it was one of the creepiest feelings i've ever experienced..i slammed on the brakes and the car stopped, but the back wheels were just spinnin...i finaly just turned the car off and pulled over...called a tow truck and had the dealer fix it..they had to clean the throttle body..it was gummed up...thats definately not something i wanna experience again.
