Exclamation PCM resets itself, not sure why

Everytime I give the car a little gas the guages go crazy and the PCM resets itself, any ideas why? It only does it when I hit the gas, not always to the floor, but more than normal.

How do you know it's resetting itself?

Low battery voltage can make the gauges sweep, along with the trip odo resetting on some '99 cars, usually on start up though. I'd make sure the connections are good and the battery is secure.

I don't, but that is my best educated guess on what it actually is doing. It basically does everything the dash would do when you turn the key to run, but it does it while I am driving and mostly when I give it some gas. It does all that as well as makes the guages go crazy, then go all the way down to where they would be when the car is off, then back to what they should be at. I think it is resetting the PCM because I have a SES light on (because my 2 rear O2s aren't programmed out.) The light is off after the problem happens. Also, my Low Oil Light (NOT the change oil light) is always on for some unknown reason (the oil level is fine and the sensor in the oil pan has been replaced twice) but it goes away for a good while after this problem happens as well. Both the lights come back on after driving the car for a few hours, but then when the car acts like a POS, they go away again. I have made sure the battery was hooked up right and everything was good and tight, but I still have the problem. Could the wires going to the starter being loose (not saying they are, just guessing) cause these problems as well?

OK I figured it out. The wires running from the battery across the front of the engine (being held to the fan shroud to prevent it from hitting the pullies) were exposed and would hit the pulley closest to the battery. The part holding the wires to the fan fell off somewhere and let the wires hang freely. Everytime I hit the gas, it would hit the pulley. After awhile it ate through the cover on the wires and then the wire itself. Luckily I saw sparks come out of the wire when I was reconnecting the battery. So I put some electrical tape on the exposed wire, put a new plastic cover over the wires, and tie strapped it back to the fan shroud. No more problems! Yay me.....
