P0155?

Tonight I got the code P0155. I scanned it and my book said oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction ( preconverter sensor right bank) What does that mean? Is it telling me I need a new o2 sensor before the cat on the right side? Or is something else wrong? Should an O2 sensor be going bad on a car with only 14,000 miles? Can installing headers (which I did) shorten the life of O2 sensors? I reset the code and it hasn't came back on yet. Sorry about all the questions.

Thanks

its telling you that there is some type of malfunction in the circuit for the heating element in you HEGO sensor. Use a DVOM and check your voltages you should see arround 5.0V-6.0V for the heating element. If its getting voltage the heating element is bad if there is no voltage you need to check the wiring chances are there is a bad ground or shorted wire. Make sure to do this with the key on. This is not going to cause your O2 to not work its just gonna take it longer, your O2 sensor needs to reach approx. 600 degrees to start functioning, and put the car in closed loop operation. the heating elements are used to speed this up to improve emisions at start-up. If the heating element is bad you would need to replace the o2 sensor if you are worried about emsions, if not let it go.
