Out of Storage

I am going to be pulling my SS out of storage. Its been sitting covered in a storage unit for one year. I have it on stands with the tires still kissing the ground. I disconnected the battery and added fuel stablizer with a full tank. I did a fresh oil/filter change before going in as well.

Do you all think I should drain the fuel? I know the gas is bad and probably need to replace the fuel filter too? What advice do you all have for pulling a car out of storage after a year? Thanks!

Can't wait to get her going again....

i would change the fuel.oil, relube things, then start it and let it idle a while, if it has been sitting that while everything needs a little time to become "lubricated" again. so take it easy on her for a while, but i would def drain that fuel before proceeding...

Thank you for the advice. How would I go about getting gas out of the tank? Would the old siphon (?) tube work going down the fuel filler hole?

The thought of running all that old gas through my fuel system bothers me.

BTW....nice ride, those wheels are very cool.

i am not sure if the syphon would work or not, i assume it would.. i would put the car on the lift and look for a spot to disconnect the line... but if the syphon works thats always easy .. haha

thanks for the compliment, i have a bunch of other stuff i gotta get on the car ie. lowering springs, and i did some other things that i think will make it appear better and not like a 4x4 lol

Why drain the fuel? I thought you said you put fuel stabilizer in it. That's the purpose of fuel stabilizer. I had my Chevelle in storage for three years with no fuel stabilizer. I got her started and she ran fine.
