Swap a current Z06 motor into a 02 Z-28? Its' being done, but only by the Pros.

At 405 bhp. the ZO6 will twist the F- body. You'll need body, subframe and suspension upgrades to start with, not to mention a Z06 PCM, all sensors and wiring, just to make it work right.

As mentioned, its being done, but its not a 'back yard' project.

It's so not worth it to do an ls6 swap!!!! You already have the ls6 intake on an '02, so just do H/C and all the bolt ons and you'll be spankin a Z06!!!!! Big Time!!!!!!! You have to also remember that one of the main reasons the Z06 is so fast, isn't b/c of that much more power, but b/c it's that power plus it's only like a 3100 lb car, someone correct me if i'm wrong. And there are way better heads and cams out there that you can put on the LS1 that'll make way more power than stock LS6 heads and stock ls6 cam.

First off, it's not 405 at the wheels, i'm pretty sure it's between 350 - 360 at the wheels. Second off, you wouldn't have to upgrade the suspension and add subframes, it would be nice to upgrade suspension, but it's not needed, and it's not like that kind of power is really gonna kill your frame (it's not that much more than we have already), you could do without the subframes, but it would be nice to have em. And yes, I do think you would need to get the computer tuned to fully take advantage of it, b/c I have a friend that has an untuned ls6 in his t/a cause he blew his ls1 and needed to replace it and got the ls6 cheap, and he has the same bolt-ons I do, and we're dead even. I think the main thing though, is just changing the rev limiter, so you take advantage of the higher revving cam in it, so it may not need to be tuned, just rev limiter raised. Sorry so long, but I figured i'd throw this out and see if my thoughts are correct. If i'm wrong about anything, please correct me, I don't want to give out incorrect info.

Differences between 98-00 and 01-02

*Cam
*LS6 intake
*Deletion of EGR
*MAF
*Computer tuning
*Z06 pressure plate and I believe Slave Cylinder
*Injectors are different
*02 has different rings to fix oil consumption
