Question Is it ok to remove the cats?

Will removing the 2 catalytic converters and replacing them with a pipe set off any codes or anything? There's no emissions testing where I live so I'm not worried about that. The only way they can test you is if you get pulled over. It just seems like it would be a relatively cheap way to pick up a few ponies. Any suggestions?

You'll need to get O2 simms to prevent codes being thrown..as for getting in carp...no one can't do crap...it will help your LS1 sound a bit nicer and people will hate you through the drive through...they'll be in tears

You might get stopped for a sound violation, Especially late at night, but I've only seen on ocassion where a cop actually crawled uneith the car to inspect it and my freind actually wond up getting his state inspection sticker scrapped off the car and escourted home with a few tickets.

Had a LM, LM with gutted cats, LM woth LT's and ORY, and now LT's and true duals. Get sims and you will have no problems. Have not been pulled over for noise yet.
